The architecture of this Bali style open house is stunning with it's high ceiling and four twenty foot Ohea posts lending support and natural beauty. The entire face of the great room opens to one of the prettiest bays in the world.
Kealakekua Bay which is just two minutes away is an underwater marine park and some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii. Spinner dolphins frequently visit this beautiful area. It is an amazing site to see them frolicking from the huge lanai and comfort of this lovely house. In the winter it is common to see the humpback whales breaching, spouting or flapping their tails.
Every day swimming in these crystal clear waters is an adventure as you never know which of our marine friends will show up to play; dolphins, turtles, manta and spotted rays, octopus and more! It is an easy swim out to be with them or you can kayak or try stand up paddle board.
This house is surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens, designed by an award winning landscaper. The visual feast includes a continuous variety of colorful, fragrant flowers. The Hawaiian fruiting trees waiting for you to sample include bananas, papaya, mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, lemons, limes, star fruit and more.
The sunsets from the lanai are outstanding. Every evening is a gift of color. You will wake up in the morning to the symphonic song of the birds and go to sleep at night to the melodic sounds of the ocean.
Every room has an ocean view. All rooms come equipped with natural air conditioning courtesy of ocean breezes and a ceiling fan. This house has four large bedrooms, each accommodating one to two guests. A master suite, with a king size bed and private bath. Two ground level bedrooms that share a western style bathroom with granite vanity and a large double shower. The upstairs bedroom has its own half bath. All bedrooms have sliding glass doors with an ocean view.
Access to a well-equipped kitchen - toaster, blender, coffee maker, full size fridge, five burner gas stove, gas barbecue, dishwasher - everything you need for cooking in paradise. Access to wireless internet, cable TV, iPod/mp3 compatible stereo in the main room, washer/dryer.
A close drive to local restaurants, fine dining, grocery market, weekend Green Farmers Market, shops and galleries. Kailua-Kona is less then twenty miles away. It is four miles to Pu`uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park and one mile to Ke'ei Beach. It is an easy (one road) drive to Volcano National Park, one of the few active volcanoes in the world. The ‘King’s Trail’ and other hikes are a short drive away with easy access. It is four miles to Paleaku Peace Gardens where guests can take yoga classes or we have mats available for yoga on the lanai with the view. It is ten miles to Ho’okena Beach. Mamalohoa Hot Tubs and Massage are about a ten minute drive away, or we can arrange a massage therapist visit you in-home.
The house has games like scrabble and various board games, cards and puzzles.
